Flash presentation of the Canadian Best Practices Portal for Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention
The Alder Group produced a promotional Flash presentation to present the main components of the Canadian Best Practices Portal for Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention to its target audience. The portal is a virtual front door to an array of online evidence-based best practices, offering information on individual interventions and programs, systematic reviews, and resources for health promotion and chronic disease prevention.
Growing Healthy Canadians web site
The conceptual framework, structure content and original illustrations of this web site and its accompanying print documents were researched, designed, produced and translated by The Alder Group.
The Health Communication Unit (THCU) Online Workbook
The Alder Group adapted and converted The Health Communications Unit’s Overview of Health Communications Planning manual to an online format. The Alder Group also provided consultation around the database-driving functions and all programming and web development.
Active & Free and Take Five
These resources designed to promote smoking prevention and cessation amoung young women were professionally designed, in order to make the content accessile to a broad range of audiences, comprised of various professionals working with young women. The graphic approach was youthful, professional and effective in making complex, sensitive material accessible and engaging.

Breakfast for Learning National Consultation on Best Practices
The Alder Group successfuly created an updated version fo this organization's web site to maximize on its potential to facilitate the National School Nutrition Best Practice consultation, also carried out and managed by The Alder Group. The Alder Group has since created many web sites as ‘information hubs’ for consultation projects.
Pan-Canadian
Healthy Living Strategy Consultations
The Alder Group created the consultation web site, including web design, interface creation and content development, for the National Consultation on an Integrated Pan-Canadian Healthy Living Strategy on behalf of Health Canada and the provincial/territorial ministries of health. The Alder Group also adapted the site to extend its shelf life and exported it to the federal government servers following common talk-and-feel requirements.
Canadian Association for HIV Research
The Alder Group provided the Canadian Association for HIV Research with a full revamp to their site, by providing original web design, flash coding and content development.
Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network
The Alder Group redesigned the Network's web site at the time (which was subsequently been revised), conducted network infrastructure assessment, recommended system and network management policies including areas for improvement for future organizational growth, performed client-side scripting for the web site, and designed the user interface graphics. The Alder Group also recommended strategies for migrating prior web site to a new host and implemented more robust search function capability to the 1500 plus page web site.
Growing Healthy Canadians
The Alder Group designed, developed content and provided web master services for Growing Healthy Canadians, a web-based resource on healthy child development on behalf of the Sparrow lake Alliance and Funders Alliance for Children, Youth and Families. This work also included the creation of all original illustrations for the site.
Health Promotion 101 Online Course
In collaboration with a number of other contributors, Brian Hyndman and other members of The Alder Group carried out a broad range of content and Web development services for the online course Health Promotion 101, hosted by the Ontario Health Promotion Resource System (OHPRS). The site employs widely-accepted standards of distributed learning design and follows a self-study approach..
Ontario Prevention Clearinghouse / Health Nexus Santé
The Alder Group worked with staff at the Ontario Prevention Clearinghouse to redevelop its original web site. The Alder Group also provided consultation on content architecture and analysis. The Health Promotion Clearinghouse subsequently was renamed Health Nexus Santé.

Enhancement Online Demo
This presentation was developed using Flash technology in order to create an interactive demo for the Skills Enhancement for Health Surveillance at the Centre for Surveillance Coordination, Public Health Agency of Canada.
The Health Communication Unit
This web site was planned and developed by The Alder Group for the Health Communication Unit, and includes extensive backend database programming to allow users to complete a comprehensive health communications planning tool online. Work also included original graphic design.
