Pan-Canadian Healthy Living Strategy Consultations
The Alder Group provided Health Canada with all project management-related services required to successfully plan and carried out a pan-Canadian Consultation on an Integrated Pan-Canadian Healthy Living Strategy. This assignment required effective and decisive project management abilities, as key activities included: three pre-consultation meetings; nine regional roundtables; preparation of the consultation workbooks (English and French), including one for Aboriginal audiences; development of a project and public web site (including background materials, glossary, meeting information, online registration and online consultation workbook); analysis and preparation of summary reports from the roundtables and the workbook submissions; logistical management for consultation meetings; preliminary program development for the national symposium; writing draft strategy document for discussion at symposium; project evaluation; and support for the consultation follow-up. Approximately 370 delegates attended the roundtables and 945 workbooks were submitted online.
Breakfast for Learning, Canadian Living Foundation
The Alder Group put forward solid project management skills to support all logistics and planning activities for the 2005 and the 2006 Breakfast for Learning national gatherings held in Ottawa, including choosing venue, liaising with venue, inviting participants, securing speakers and special guests, on-site management.
Summative Evaluation of the Primary Health Care Transition Fund
The Alder Group provided strong project management support for the wide-ranging activities surrounding the summative evaluation of the Primary Health Care Transition Fund for Health Canada. Activities to be managed included data collection, analysis and interpretation through the development and reporting on four lines of evidence—a document review, stakeholders’ interviews, a comprehensive web-based survey and a wide-ranging literature review—and the development and production of a final report.
Active & Free
The Alder Group provided the project management function for all components of the Active & Free initiative on behalf of the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity. This included coordinating a major international research and benchmarking initiative, managing national key informant interviews and overseeing all aspects of writing, translation, production and dissemination.
