Hayley Wickenheiser Collaborates on Smoking Prevention Resource for Young Women

The Alder Group has been selected to carry out the review and redevelopment of an acclaimed resource on tobacco, physical activity, and adolescent women for the Candian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity. The new resource, Active and Free: Young Women, Physical Activity and Tobacco is aimed at anyone who has the opportunity to be in contact with young women and make a difference in their life by either helping them quit smoking or prevent them from starting. The engaging and practical text is particularly relevant for coaches, physical educators, recreation leaders and parents.

This important project, involving many of The Alder Group's services, included the development of a communications plan, a literature review, key informant interview research, writing, editing, translation, graphic design, and desktop publishing. “This is the kind of project that’s fun to do, where we can work with a great client, leverage our team of Associates with complimentary skill sets, think creatively and carry out all the steps internally” says Alder Group CEO Jean-Marc Dupont. “Bringing Team Canada hockey star Hayley Wickenheiser into the project as a spokesperson was the icing on the cake.”
